Case Study: Increasing Engagement

ABCD Igniter Events

Context

The ABCD Plan for Cultural Recovery puts creative businesses and workers at the forefront of the city’s recovery highlighting the unique opportunities in Brighton & Hove for thinking to be radical and inclusive.

The plan commits the sector to developing ways of working that are more inclusive, collaborative and more sustainable, acknowledging the power imbalances that exist and determined to find solutions to address them.

Challenge

The Engine Room strand of the plan recognises that creative and cultural organisations of all scales have had to adapt and pivot in the many months of closure caused by the pandemic. They have had little or no support with business skills or leadership resilience, neither have they had to time to learn from each other or others beyond the city.

always possible’s challenge was to create a series of Igniter Events featuring a diverse range of local, national, and international speakers to inspire ideas and explore new ways of working and collaborating as the creative and cultural sectors emerge from the pandemic.

Intervention

  • Facilitation

  • Engagement with diverse audiences across the city and beyond
  • New collaborations

Working with always possible was an enjoyable and collaborative experience. Conversations were open and exploratory, new ideas were welcomed and the team was really invested in the project. The management was creative, responsive and efficient and the events were delivered to a very high standard.

I hope we get to work together again.
