Lewes District Business Start-up

Residents of Lewes district in East Sussex now have access to free support for starting and growing businesses through the newly launched Lewes District Start-Up Programme.

This initiative, funded by Lewes District Council and designed and delivered by always possible, aims to assist pre-start and early-stage businesses, including community enterprises and co-operatives.

The programme is divided into 3 modules:

Module 1

Turn Your Idea Into Action

Begins on 3rd July 2023 at The Hillcrest Centre in Newhaven. This half-day workshop will guide participants through converting business ideas into structured plans and understanding basic business modelling.

Module 2

Mastering Business Basics

Starts in autumn 2024 and focuses on financial management, marketing strategies, and customer relationship building.

Module 3

Preparing to Grow

Helps businesses prepare for scaling and expansion, covering topics like funding strategies and building productive teams.

Following the workshops, participants can join a facilitated drop-in session and access online resources and expert support via always possible’s online networking platform –  The Possibility Club.

The programme is open to Lewes District residents (in Lewes, Newhaven, Seaford, Plumpton, Peacehaven etc) with business ideas or businesses trading for less than 24 months.

All modules are designed to be flexible, allowing participants to progress at their own pace with access to peer support and expert advice.
