NEWS: Showcasing children’s cultural lives in Hertfordshire

Our Research, Evaluation & Design team present evaluation findings at showcase event.

In June 2021, always possible was commissioned to evaluate HCEP’s 8-month Test & Trial initiative, which was designed to test some interventions that address the outcomes of an earlier cultural needs analysis conducted in the region.

Following a series of workshops, surveys, and some desk-based research a Theory of Change and detailed evaluation plan were developed so the HCEP team would have a sound basis for outcomes-led delivery from which to work. In October delivery began – an exciting range of co-creation experiments, engagement events and research exercises – led across five towns in the region by three experienced creative producers.

Fast-forward to late April and delivery and evaluation are now complete. Vicky Tremain and Letitia McConalogue from our Research, Evaluation & Design team were thrilled to be able to attend (in person!) a showcase event at Hertfordshire University where Vicky presented insights about impact from our evaluation findings.

What got the team really excited was being able to see, up close and personal, the outpouring of creativity that has resulted from this project. The showcase featured art created by young people as a result of the HCEP activity in their areas, ranging across a host of different artforms – musical theatre, film, visual arts, and sculpture – to name a few.
