SPOTLIGHT: Health Education England
Health Education England is a public body responsible for the overseeing of the education and healthcare training of the healthcare workforce in England. HEE’s vision is to improve the health and wellbeing of patients and the public by ensuring that the healthcare workforce is skilled, compassionate, and competent. They work closely with partners including The National Health Service (NHS), Universities and training providers to ensure that healthcare professionals have the skills and knowledge they need to deliver high-quality care to patients.
Through consultation and review, always possible identified where real innovation was being used by Health Education England to inspire older workers.
Health Education England continues its work to develop a more diverse and inclusive healthcare workforce, with a focus on increasing the representation of underrepresented groups. January 2023 saw the announcement of a pilot for the first degree apprentices to train as doctors.
