Stephen J. Barnett is professionally curious about social impact and what makes charities, social enterprises and public services succeed. He is a keen connector of people and ideas and much of his career was about building international networks.
He started out with the Brighton-based European Social Network, working with adult social care directors. From 2013-18, he was the CEO of Euclid Network, where exciting projects included running an Erasmus exchange programme for social entrepreneurs and co-designing a third sector leadership competency framework. Euclid relocated to the Netherlands in 2018 and is now thriving across the North Sea on the foundations that Stephen and his team had built in London.
Stephen made the switch to more local work in Sussex, running a younger-onset dementia club, including through the pandemic lockdowns of 2020 and consulting on leadership, governance and fundraising. He is a member of a social investment committee for a major foundation and is undertaking an M.A. in Philanthropic Studies at the University of Kent.
