Could you see yourself shaping the future of training in construction or STEM?
Taking Teaching Further Sussex (TTF Sussex) is a new industry mentoring programme, supporting Sussex-based professionals in construction, STEM and digital sector roles to work closely with tutors and course designers within post-16 technical education.
TTF Sussex forms part of the Department for Education (DfE) funded Taking Teaching Further initiative managed on its behalf by the Education and Training Foundation (ETF).
The innovative new TTF Sussex scheme has been devised by The Sussex Council of Training Providers (SCTP) to generate new and improved ways for industry professionals to better understand vocational and technical teaching opportunities, and to support curriculum development through sharing of insight and skills.
Are you a master builder, designer, coder or engineer?
Following a straightforward application process, successful applicants will be matched with a local course leader in order to co-design a mentoring programme. An independent facilitator will help you and your mentor to create an exciting programme of learning, teaching, work-shadowing, advising on latest industry knowledge and challenging assumptions.
You will need to be able to commit to:
- Attending a short, facilitated workshop on the programme with your allocated mentor.
- Completing up to 42 hours of placement/work shadowing, over a four-month period.
Bursaries of up to £800 are available to industry mentees who complete the programme, with further financial support for training and qualifications depending on location and sector.
