‘BRAIN FOOD’ THAT KEPT ME BUZZING FOR HOURS
Thank you to everyone who came along to the first The Possibility Club: WHAT IF…? event in Worthing on the 23rd August. It was made by the energy, compassion and curiosity in the room – all of which was in abundance.
Susuana asked us what if creativity had no gender, and that led us to impassioned discussions on representation, workplace culture, art, apprenticeships and the messages we send out by what we do and the language we use.
Daisy asked us what if we championed a freelance economy in which we had more confidence to pay people to do just what they are good at and passionate about. We had cheers and disagreement, but a generous exploration of what that might mean for different sectors and businesses.
Adam asked us what if we didn’t abandon young people. He told us stories of Ethan and Sky and how young people took on the policy-makers and won with an 8-letter question from the heart. No decisions about them without them was the consensus.
Feedback so far:
“It was a very interesting evening with inspirational people who posed thought provoking ‘What if… ‘ propositions which made us all think differently. A great night with good people.”
“What a safe space to discuss ideas!”
“It was the reverse of other networking events – with people there to listen rather than sell”
“It was a really thought provoking ‘Brain Food’ activity that kept me buzzing for hours after. The facilitation was professional, considered, humorous and facilitative. The speakers were eloquent and passionate and the audience engaged”
“I found myself so caught up while listening that I completely forgot to take pictures, so sorry for that!” (Rebecca – the always possible communications intern)
The next event will be in Brighton on 20th September. Speakers and venue to be confirmed. Details will be in the newsletter and at thepossibilityclub.org
